Donald Trump has threatened to withhold “billions” of dollars of US aid from countries which vote in favour of a United Nations resolution rejecting the US president’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
His comments came after the US ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, wrote to about 180 of 193 member states warning that she will be “taking names” of countries that vote for a general assembly resolution on Thursday critical of the announcement which overturned decades of US foreign policy.Read more.....

The future of Qatar hangs in the balance this week.
For over four months, the Emirate has struggled under the burden of a
multi-national blockade led by Saudi Arabia. focused on pressuring
Qatar to cease itsfunding of terror groups throughout the region.
Just days ago, though, U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson embarked
on a diplomatic mission to ease the dispute, stopping first in Saudi
Arabia and then, on Sunday, in the Qatari capital of Doha.
Though the Secretary of State expressed an eagerness to end the blockade and restore unity to the Gulf, the news he brought Qatar on Sunday was anything but promising.
“In my meetings with [Saudi] Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, I asked him to please engage in dialogue,” he began. However, Tillerson went on to lament that “there is not a strong indication that parties are ready to talk yet.”
Summing up the futility of his trip, he said “We cannot force talks upon people who are not ready to talk.”
And so, the blockade will go on.
Let it remain. So long as Qatar continues to support Hamas, it’s not a bad thing.
Why? Because ultimately, the blockade is working. To understand just
how effective it has been, you don’t even have to check the news.
You could, instead, see it on the commercial reels of your favorite
television shows or even on the streets of London and New York.
Last June, Qatar introduced a novelty in commercial advertising when it took out unmistakably political TV ads for
its national airline. Instead of describing the luxuries of the first
class seating or the host of international destinations, this Qatar
Airways ad decried the airspace boundaries being enforced against it.
“There should be no borders up here,” said a voice against a blue,
cloudy sky. “As an airline, we don’t believe in boundaries, we believe
in bringing people together.” How the funding of genocidal militants
like Hamas serves to ‘bring people together’ was left unclear.
For the past few months, as well, if one were to Google any term
related to Qatar, the first website offered would be, interestingly, lifttheblockade.com. (Almost comically, just beneath it was a link to counterextremism.org, leading to a site that showcases all of the available evidence of Qatar’s support for terrorism.)
Then, just last week, walking down Central Park West, I noticed yet
another ad above the roof of a taxi cab, with the words “Lift the
Blockade Against the People of Qatar” printed in large block-letters
above images of a fence and barbed wire.
In London, Qatar took its campaign a step further, painting the same ad
across the entire sides of London’s iconic black cabs. Though Al
Jazeera, Qatar’s state-funded news service, claimed the campaign was an
initiative of London’s transportation services, the truth was that Qatar
had simply paid for it.
Qatar is obviously doing all it can to break the blockade. Which, in turn, means that the blockade is working. Read more....
An Israeli court has decided to strip an Arab Israeli attacker of his
citizenship, legal sources said Monday, in what a rights group said was
the first ruling of its kind.
The Haifa district court decided to strip Alla Zayud of his
citizenship Sunday by applying a 2008 law that allows the interior
ministry to deprive of their nationality those involved in "terrorist
activities", the sources said.
Adalah, an Arab Israeli rights group, said it was the first court decision of its kind.
The 22-year-old, from Umm al-Fahm in northern Israel, was convicted
on four counts of attempted murder after driving a car into Israeli
soldiers and stabbing civilians in October 2015.
He was sentenced to 25 years in jail in June 2016.
His mother is an Israeli citizen while his father is a Palestinian with permanent residence in Israel.
Adalah and the Association for Civil Rights in Israel in a joint
statement said they would appeal the ruling to the supreme court.
They said the court decision deviated "from the principles of
international law, and from the general rule according to which an
individual cannot be stripped of (their) citizenship and left
stateless".
Arab Israelis are the descendents of Palestinians who remained on their land when the Jewish state was established in 1948.
They number around 1.4 million, some 18 percent of Israel's population.
Since a wave of violence erupted in October 2015, more than 290
Palestinians or Arab Israelis and 47 Israelis have been killed,
according to an AFP toll.

TEL AVIV – Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday night said a “human animal with abhorrent hatred” murdered three Israeli family members from the West Bank Halamish community on Friday night.
He also expressed “deep sorrow” for the family of the victims.
“This was an act of terror perpetrated by a human animal, infused with abhorrent hatred,” the prime minister said in a statement about 19-year-old Omar al-Abed.
Abed climbed a fence into Halamish and broke into the home of the Salomon family as they ate Shabbat dinner. He stabbed four people at the table and killed three, including a grandfather and his son and daughter.
Abed told investigators that he wanted to avenge Israel’s actions on the Temple Mount.
At Sunday’s security cabinet meeting, Netanyahu considered alternatives to the metal detectors installed at entrances to the Temple Mount following a deadly terror attack at the holy site.
Earlier Saturday, Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman visited the Halamish settlement and said that Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas must issue “a clear condemnation of the massacre committed yesterday against an innocent family that posed a danger to no one, a terrible slaughter carried out during the family’s Shabbat dinner.”
Abbas, who has given no response to the attack thus far, said on Sunday that he was suspending all security coordination with Israel.
The security measures at the Temple Mount came in response to a deadly terror attack on July 14 in which two Druze-Israeli police officers were shot and killed at the holy site. Nevertheless, Abbas claimed the installation of metal detectors was “falsely presented as a security measure” while in reality Israel wished “to take control of Al-Aqsa Mosque.” Liberman reacted to Abbas latest statement, saying that Israel doesn’t need Palestinian cooperation over matters of security. In a swift response to at least ten missiles being launched from Syria that hit inside Israeli territory, the Israel Air Force on Saturday carried out retributive strikes targeting the positions from which the mortars were tracked to have originated.
“Furthermore, the IAF targeted two tanks belonging to the Syrian regime in the Northern Syrian Golan Heights,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a statement explaining their response.
Earlier on Saturday, the IDF informed Israeli civilians to stay clear from the border area near Quneitra, which is the small village near the Golan Height’s border close to southern Syria, and falls within a zone formerly disarmed by the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF).
The IDF believes that the mortar shells that landed in Israel was most likely rounds that were off target, launched by groups fighting each other across the border in Syria. Read more.....
TEL AVIV – President Donald Trump’s son, Donald Jr., slammed the BBC for its headline on the Jerusalem terror attack that only mentioned the deaths of three Palestinians and failed to note that they were terrorists who murdered a border policewoman.
“Three Palestinians killed after deadly stabbing in Jerusalem,” read the original BBC tweet on Saturday. It was quickly deleted by the British state broadcaster.

U.S Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley has blasted a new U.N. report that attacks Israeli actions in the Middle East, in what she says is the latest sign of the U.N.’s “unfair bias” in how it handles the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The report, from the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, was submitted in response to a resolution by the Human Rights Council — a body which Haley has repeatedly criticized for its own anti-Israel bias and the questionable human rights record of some of its members. Read More.....

On the eve of Israel's Independence Day, UNESCO passed a resolution calling for the revocation of Israeli sovereignty in all of Jerusalem, despite Israeli attempts to convince as many countries as possible to resist.The UNESCO resolution calls on Israel, as the "occupying power," to cease "persistent excavations, tunneling, works and projects in east Jerusalem," which the Palestinians claim as the capital of their future state. Israel views the entire city as its capital.

A cartoon published on the website of a branch of the Palestinian Fatah party draws a comparison between Israel and the Islamic State terror group.
A reproduction of the cartoon was posted by Palestinian Media Watch, a Jerusalem-based NGO.
The cartoon shows two uniformed fighters, one with a Star of David on his helmet and the other an IS gunman. The arms of the two men are intertwined and they are firing automatic weapons. The Israeli is holding a hatchet dripping with blood, while the IS terrorist holds a bloodied knife.
Iranian rep. at International Atomic Energy Agency describes Israel as a threat to entire Middle East, claims it targeted Iranian experts and criticizes Israel for not joining Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.
Iranian Envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Reza Najafi accused Israel on Thursday of being behind the assassinations of several scientists working on Iran's nuclear energy plan.
“While nuclear scientists all across the Middle East have been assassinated by the terrorists hired by this regime, the nuclear experts of this regime have access to the nuclear facilities of some countries of the region,” said Najafi.
The Iranian representative also criticized Israel for repeatedly ignoring international calls to join the global Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. “Unfortunately, the Zionist Regime has ignored the rightful requests of the international community in the last years, and having the blind support of some western countries and with infringing all international laws and regulations, has pushed its dangerous military nuclear program forward,” added Najafi. I fail to see the problem of reuniting the inhabitants of both Jordan and Palestine with their fellow like minded Muslim neighbors. After all as best I remember wasn't the West Bank area part of Jordan before the war and likewise Gaza a part of Egypt. But then I suspect neither Egypt or Jordan really want anything to do with those areas today. Maybe the solution is for those leaders in both Gaza and Palestine to stop teaching their children to hate and kill Jews. Now really would you want to give a gun to a neighbor who wants you dead. Until such time as Muslims in these two areas can learn to live in peace with the Jewish State and quit calling for it's destruction there should be no two state solution.
History is replete with examples of old enemies becoming allies when faced with a common foe. As the power of Iran grows and the Islamic state spreads it tentacles into Syria, Yemen, Lebanon, and of course Gaza and the West Bank there seems to be a growing closeness between Israel and the Arab States. a
Let there be no doubt that those of the Islamic faith, not just in the Middle East but around the world, given the opportunity would drive the Jews of Israel into the sea. They have repeatedly told us just that. The peace that now exist between Egypt and Israel is not a last peace. It is a peace of convenience that is like the desert sands that will ebb and flow with the wind. The leaders in Tel Aviv know this and will not drop their guard. But many around the world foolishly believe that returning the lands of the West Bank will bring about a lasting peace in that region. No that would just be a first step down the path to destruction by the Jewish State. The indisputable reality is that many nations around the world and not just those with large Islamic populations would love to see an end to Israel. In truth, Israel has perhaps only one friend in this world, that being the United States under the leadership of Donald J. Trump!
Those on the left who hate Donald Trump and everything he stands for are the same people who despise the Jewish state and lump the government of that sovereign nation's policy toward Palestinians, with that of the old apartheid government of South Africa. But actually, these idiots see anyone who does not agree with their positions as racist and Nazis.
